The Fight

America has fought many battles throughout its history.  Many wars have been waged, many lives have been lost.  Many men and women throughout history have been willing to give everything, even their lives, to defend our great nation.  Much like America, the church has fought many battles throughout history.  Many have willingly given everything, even their lives to stand for the kingdom of God and His church.  Even still today the battle rages on.  Many men and women have enlisted in the fight, yet, even more are needed.  On fact must be realized, the battles fought by both America and the church have been won over the years because so many were willing to stand on the battlefield and face the enemy head-on.  Those victories were not obtained by those sitting at home, hiding under their beds hoping things would change.  Nor were they won by those who were half-hearted in their commitment to fight.  The battles were won because of those in the middle of the fight with sweat, and often times blood, pouring from their bodies.  They were the heroes of the battle, those who enlisted in the fight, those who gave up their comforts, their families, and their lives for the cause of victory.

Just like America, the church continues the fight today.  Our weapons are not carnal, and our battlefield is not a physical place.  The battleground lies beneath the knees of every true believer who chooses to enlist in the army of prayer.  Unfortunately, this battleground remains mostly uninhabited today.  So few are willing to fight in prayer.  So few are willing to give up comfort, family, and their lives to win the victory.  The fact remains the church will not win the fight if we continue to follow the same pattern of a prayerless and powerless faith.  Likewise, the church will not be victorious if we stay at home, hide under our beds, and hope things change.  We must fight!!

Another fact is evident.  Battles are rarely if ever, won by just one person.  However, armies are created one soldier at a time.  The church, and America, is in the fight of all fights today.  This could be the beginning of the final battle, the final victory.  Every man is needed.  Every woman is being called.  The battlefield has been prepared.  Who will join the fight?  Who will stand shoulder to shoulder with us?  Who will stand in the face of the enemy to defend the honor of our great God?  Who will join this battle of prayer?  Who will set aside the things of this world for a life of prayer?  Who will get on their knees and fight?

Jeremiah 29:12-14 "In those days when you pray, I will listen.  If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.  "I will be found by you," says the Lord.  "I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes.  I will gather you out of the nations where I sent you and will bring you home again to your own land."
